El Progreso Memorial Library Director Mendell Morgan and Library Archivist Virginia Davis are seeking help from the community in collecting photos of the many memorials set up around the City of Uvalde. The library is creating an archive of materials about the Robb School Tragedy and can include pictures, videos, recordings, personal histories, journal entries and personal recollections. “We’re seeking funding for equipment to start an oral history project. ” said Morgan

“There are many Robb School memorials all over town and we want to collect pictures of them all.” Davis said.

El Progreso Memorial Library is home to the Virginia W. Davis Archives. According to the library’s website it reads: “El Progreso Archives collects and provides access to archives and manuscript materials that document the families, businesses, and organizations in Uvalde and the surrounding counties that comprise the Southwest Texas region. These counties include Edwards, Real, Val Verde, Kinney, Medina, Frio, Zavala, Maverick, Dimmit and La Salle. The archives and manuscript materials are accessible to the public, and any restriction on their use will be imposed only by the original donor and applicable legal statutes.”

“An archive of pictures and other materials pertaining to the Robb School Tragedy on May 24th will be of value to those in the future wanting to research what happened in Uvalde. “
