Two Tanker Trucks filled with drinking water were seen around noon on Friday, June 24th, 2022 on Mountain Valley Road near the gated entrance of the Mountain Valley Subdivision located “neat Frio Valley Ranch Golf Course. Douglas. A tractor trailer driver with Reynolds Nationwide hauling the water was heading to the two large water tanks that supply the houses in the community were running low. He also stated this was the second time this past week water was delivered to the area.
At the Uvalde County Visitor’s Center, a notice on the front door read that their bathrooms were closed due to lack of water.
In a June 22nd Facebook Post by Texas Hill Country River Region President Jamie Holmes, it states:
“We have yet to be able to load water from the City of Uvalde. However, CCWS is currently refilling inventories using the transport companies that we engaged last week and this is now under way. We still need to remain careful and conserve, but this should provide an immediate relief to the system.
Uvalde County expected that the Emergency Declaration would be issued today by the State, which should immediately free up engineering resources to evaluate our system and to authorize emergency drilling. CCWS has located several potential sites. This is promising.
CCWS will maintain planned shut offs from 12-6 AM daily. Please remember that we are not able to fill swimming pools or water yards with CCWS supplied water.
Pray for rain.”
Earlier on June 18th Concan Water Supply issued a statement regarding limiting the water supply to conserve available water. The statement read,
“CCWS is turning off all water to our area beginning at 2PM today. Water will remain off for 4 hour intervals, coming back on line for an hour. In other words, from 2-6. PM there will be no water. Water will come back on line from 6-7 PM and will again turn off from 7-11 PM.”
