Teammates raise over $4000 selling lemonade at local church

Softball teammates come together to assist one of their own

Mayah Zamoria, a 10 year old student of Robb Elementary School is currently at a San Antonio Hospital being treated for her injuries sustained in the Tuesday, May 24th attack.

On Thursday, a group of Mayah’s softball teammates, parents and friends got together and set up a lemonade stand in the parking lot of the Baptist Temple in Uvalde.  From 10 AM until 3 PM, cars pulled into the parking lot and lined up by the lemonade stand to buy lemonade for a donation for Zamora.

As the group was packing up after 3 PM that day, a large plastic jar was filled with money and checks. It was reported in a KSAT 12 News story the group raised over $4,000. The following morning, it was reported that donations to the group were continuing to come in and the amount raised for Zamorah had grown to $5000.
