Hundreds attend UMH Grand Opening Ceremony

  UMH Hospital Board of Directors, Hospital Staff, Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin and County Judge Bill Mitchell along with Uvalde City Council members and Uvalde County Commissioners were in attendance at this morning’s grand opening ceremony along with hundreds of attendees including first responders and the general public. The official ceremony started with  remarks given by Uvalde Memorial Hospital CEO Tom Nordwick. Following Nordwick’s address,  hospital board member Bill Kessler and a representative of Hoar Construction Company spoke as several dozen were seated under white outdoor canopies. Many other attendees dressed in hospital scrubs and uniforms. 

Nordwick recognized a number of major donors to the hospital and indicated they would receive recognition with a display inside the new hospital facility. 

Following the opening presentations an official ribbon cutting took place with  Hospital CEO Tom Norwick cutting the ribbon. After the ribbon cutting those attending were invited to a reception on the second floor balcony area of the new hospital.
