Up to 140 international immigrants to arrive daily in Uvalde Starting this Wednesday

At tonight’s Uvalde City Council meeting, Mayor Don McLaughlin reported that starting tomorrow, (Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022) up to 150 international immigrants from Cuba, Guatemala, Russia and other countries will be dropped off at the Stripes Bus Station in Uvalde on a daily basis.

In a follow up statement posted on Facebook following the city council meeting,  McLaughlin wrote:

   “The city of Uvalde was notified this morning and in meetings this afternoon that border patrol would be bringing to release in Uvalde 90-140 illegal immigrants a day from UVALDE station and Brackettville station Judge Mitchell and I both visited today on this along with chief Rodriguez, sheriff Nolasco, swart, city staff and UVALDE minstrel alliance we where able to get buses to pick these individuals up as they are being released and take them to San Antonio hopefully we will be able to keep up with enough buses to stop them from being released in our city.”
